Katie Morag books (Mairi Hedderwick)

I loved these books as a kid about Katie Morag, a little girl growing up on a tiny island off the coast of Scotland. The illustrations are delightful, as are the stories of island life, but Katie Morag is the real treasure. She’s messy, human, makes mistakes, has a bit of a temper but a big heart, and gets into all sorts of trouble delivering the mail, readying a sheep for the fair, and dealing with little siblings.
